Appts. measuring ductility consists of a sinker (a) which descends onto the sample (b) resting on a tempering jacket (c) on a holder. The holder is attached to a stand (f) having a gear-wheel screw (e) in its upper part. This screw control the movement of the sinker (a). The sinker (a) has a moving marking which runs vertically along a fixed millimeter scale. This scale is fixed to the top part of the stand. When the sinker has been guided to the bottom of the sample holder, it is carried upwards again at a constant speed. This movement is stopped as soon as the thread-like specimen adhering to the sinker snaps. The value can then be read off the scale.
|
