An evaluating circuit is for information transmitted back from the power and control circuits of a thyristor rectifier in order to check their correct functioning. The circuit makes use of a logic memory in each signal line. This element feeds three circuits a shift register and two level detectors. Of the latter one receives a linear function and the other an exponential one. The different signals to the detectors assist in reducing measurement errors. When a turn off error is detected the system can be made to give an emergency trigger pulse to protect the thyristors.
