New 2'-deoxyribofuranosyl nucleosides are of formula (I): where R1 is H, halogen, 1-6C alkyl (&ref. Et), phenyl, benzyl, or 1-6C perfluoroalkyl (pref. CF3); R2 is H or halogen (pref. F or Cl); R3 is H H, 1-6C alkyl, or an organic acid residue (pref. acetyl or propionyl); and R4 is 1-adamantylcarbonyl. Antiviral agents having cirvirostatic activity against resistant viruses.
