<p>PURPOSE:To achieve higher friction coefficient and abrasion resistance by diffusing and permeating boron to a guide pin thereby forming surface hardened layer. CONSTITUTION:After stainless steel being blank is rough-finished to a specifed shape, it is subjected to boronizing to allow boron to be permeated into the sliding part 3 of a guide pin 1 and the opposing surfaces of its large diameter parts 2, 2', whereby a surface hardened layer is formed. At this time the surface of the pin 1 is slightly rough and therefore it is polished to be finished to required accuracy. Thereby, the friction coefficient of the surface hardened layer may be reduced and yet its abrasion resistance improved.</p> |
