PURPOSE:To convert CO gas into H2 gas with high conversion rate by subjecting a CO gas mixt. to shift reaction after which the reaction product mixt. is cooled, countercurrently contacted to an absorbing soln. to remove CO2 gas, and further subjected to shift reaction. CONSTITUTION:CO gas-contg. raw gas mixt. 12 and hot steam 13 are supplied to first conversion tower 1, where they undergo shift reaction at 300-550 deg.C in first conversion zone A packed with iron-Cr type catalyst. Next the gas mixt. from tower 1 is supplied to reboiler 5 to produce absorbing soln. regenerating steam, and the mixt. is fed to the bottom of absorption tower 3 through drain separator 9. In tower 3, the gas mixt. is countercurrently contacted to an absorbing soln. supplied 25 in first absorption zone C to almost throughly remove CO2 in the mixt., followed by supply 17 to second conversion tower 4. In tower 4, steam 18 is supplied to carry out shift reaction at 300-350 deg.C in second conversion zone E packed with the same kind of catalyst as in zone A, and the heat of the resulting gas mixt. is supplied to reboiler 6 to recover the heat. The absorbing soln. deteriorated by by absorption of CO2 in tower 3 is fed to regeneration tower 2, regenerated in regereration zone B, and recycled. |
