Apparatus for use in the cooling of solid gasification residues of a fluidized bed generator operated under excess pressure comprises a cooling pipe (13) located within a housing (12) arranged downstream of the generator (40), the cooling pipe being in helical or serpentine form. At least one inlet opening (38) is provided in the housing for the introduction of a gas or gas mixture for loosening the gasification residues in the housing and at least one outlet opening (32) is also provided in the housing for the solid gasification residues, the removal of the gasification residues via the or each outlet opening being controlled by suitable means, such as the wheel arrangement 36. <IMAGE> |
