PURPOSE:To reduce wire vibration and at the same time to improve processing precision, by synchronizing wire electrode oscillation and electric discharge in wire- cut electric discharge processing. CONSTITUTION:Wire electrode 1 moves between guides 2 in the direction shown by the arrows. Object 3 to be processed is placed opposite wire 1. Electric discharge processing is operated by connecting a processing pulse supply source to terminal 4. The frequency of a repetitive pulse, with width tauon and interval tauoff, generated by oscillator 8 is synchronized with the number of oscillations of wire electrode 1 between guides 2. For example, when the wire electrode is made of copper wire of 0.2mmphi, the number of oscillations between the guides, l=30cm, is about 3KHz assuming the tension to be 1 kg. Hence, when the interrupting control pulse is adjusted to tauon=156mus, tauoff=15mus, the processing under this invention will reduces the dimensional eppor from about 0.03mm in conventional methods to about 0.008mm. |
