PURPOSE:To prevent off-tracking of the data and servo disc accompanied with temperature differences and improve characteristics of reading or the like sharply by cleaning the shroud inside and controlling direction of clean air to be fed cooling the data and servo discs. CONSTITUTION:A clean air feeding nozzle 10 of trapezoidal form of a narrow width is provided on the side of a carriage alongside data discs 2 and a servo disc 3 and valves 11, 12 are openably provided in the positions opposing to the discs 2, 3. A fin 13 is vertically turnably provided in the nozzle. At the start of the apparatus, the valve 12 is closed, the valve 11 is opened and the fin 13 is set horizontal to feed the clean air of the nozzle 10 only in the direction of the discs 2 to prevent cooling of the disc 3. After lapse of a fixed time after the start, the valve 12 is opened and the valve 11 is closed and further the fin 13 is turned like the solid line to guide the clean air of the nozzle 10 with the fin 13 and send the same only toward the disc 3 via the valve 12, thus positively cooling the same. |
