PURPOSE:To provide the subject method comprising supplying an insulating material prepared by mixing a powder of an inorganic substance with a binder to the container corresponding passage of a continuous extruder, and welding a metal tape to the thus extruded coated composite wire, thereby to facilitate continuous shaping of inorganic insulated electric wires with efficiency and to improve the productivity thereof. CONSTITUTION:While supplying insulating materials 18 and 18' prepared by mixing a powder of an inorganic substance with a binder in a weight ratio of from 9 : 1 to container corresponding passages 13 and 13' of an continuous extruder consisting of movable wheels 10 and 10' having endless grooves 11 and 11' at their peripheral end surfaces and a statinary shoe block 12 by suitable means, the movable wheels 10 and 10' are respectively rotated in directions shown by arrow. Then, a composite wire 19 is obtained. This composite wire 19 is passed through a heating and baking furnace 20, and thereafter immediately a metal tape 21 is applied vertically and coated on its periphery by passing the same through a tape tubular processing part 22, and the joints are welded by TIG welding to obtain a composite inorganic insulating wire 23. By these procedure, the effeciency and productivity of the extruder can be improved. |
