Fold-away tent for car roof - has thin cross=section framework when collapsed providing less air resistance

The tent structure comprises a support attached to the car roof and supporting a foldaway frame for the tent. This frame has elongated frame members which when the framework is folded down extend parallel to each other to reduce the air resistance and thus reduce petrol consumption when travelling. The collapsed tent has a long thin shape and is thus easier to handle. The support can have an oblong housing which takes the framework and the fastening devices on the housing which are used to fix the latter to the roof.
