The windscreen wiper is used on vehicles and aircraft and comprises a common back (1) made from a rigid material. Its outer extremities are fitted with hinged arms (1a, 1b) for locating a support strip (4) underneath. This strip is made from spring steel or similar material and locates the windscreen wiper blades (7, 8, 9, 10). Several blades are fixed along the length of the strip, all being made of flexible rubber and inclined at an angle of 10 deg.-45 deg. parallel to each other. The outer end (11) of each blade overlaps more than half the adjacent blade length.
