Metal plate for shelf rack - has double thickness bent back edges defining U=shaped gap for support bar

The metal plate is for use in shelving racks. Along at least two (2, 3) of its opposite sides are two bent-back edges, forming an inverted U shape. Inside the U shaped gap (10) thus formed, is inserted a bar acting as a support for the shelf plate. To increase stability and for reinforcement, the metal plate is folded back on itself to form a double thickness in those parts (8) supporting the bars. At least two vertical, parallel uprights with parallel horizontal bars on which the shelf is placed are in the form of ladders.
