The female connector is in the form of a spade and having a sprung clip to secure an incoming single wire. The connector is pressed and folded from a single metal strip providing a high sided spade connection region (2) and rectangular tube section (1) to accept the wiring (20). The base (4) of the tube is extended and folded back (8) into the tube such that it forms a sprung clip with the top surface (6) of the tube. The end of the folded back section (10) is further folded through about 90 deg. to form a limit stop for the wire.
