The pipeline label consists of a plate (1) carrying an inscription, a fixing stirrup (2) for the plate (1) and a fixing collar (3). To enable fixing of the stirrup (2) on to the collar (3) the stirrup (2) has slots (4) in its branches. The collar (3) is passed through the slots (4) of the stirrup (2). The plate is fixed to the stirrup (2) by rivets (5) or screws. In the event of the inscription contg. a large number of words, and a large plate (1) is required it is possible to fix the plate by the use of two stirrups and two collars.
