High rate overflow assembly for purified water from gravity separator - uses progressive divergent outlet passages with minimal flow restrictions

Separator has an outlet pipe for purified water leading to an over flow chamber outside the separator. The outlet pipe is of processively increasing dia. from separator to the outlet pipe leads into the lower end of a conical funnel which enlarges progressively in cross-section to an overflow edge at the top of the funnel. The outlet pipe is pref. formed with bends as gentle as possible and certainly without sharp channels of direction. The interior of the funnel pref. presents >=1 coaxial, annular gutter with outlet channels radiating outwards to carry uprising liq. to the rising wall of the overflow funnel. A flexible, leak proof, extensible coupling is pref. fitted between the outlet pipe and the funnel. This permits a pref. facility to adjust the overflow funnel w.r.t. the chamber. Divergent and practically unrestricted low ensures that the overflow is capable of rapidly discharging spasmodic peak loads with virtually no change in the liq. surface level within the separator.
