The object is to reduce the number of connections necessary for the remote control of loads. The switching units (AE1, AE2...AEm) are connected in parallel across the power supply (SPQ) and the signal function generators (SF1, SF2,....SFn) are similarly connected. One function generator controls at least one switching unit through signals passed along the power connections (L1, L2). The power supply for the control circuits is derived from the main power supply (SPQ). In addition to switching commands the system can also be used to send back check signals to verify the execution of a command.
