A feed for growing chicks and turkey poults is prepared by supplementing poultry feed with a source of calcium, a source of phosphorus, a tetracycline antibiotic, notably chlorotetracycline, and, as a potentiating agent for the tetracycline antibiotic, a sulphate of a cation carrying a single positive charge such sulphate being exemplified by sodium sulphate, sodium bisulphate, potassium sulphate, potassium bisulphate, ammonium sulphate, ammonium acid sulphate, sulphuric acid, trimethyl ammonium sulphate and dimethyl ammonium sulphate. Substances specified include dicalcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, calcium sulphate, phosphoric acid, tricalcium phosphate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate, tetracycline, chlorotetracycline, oxytetracycline, dimethylchlorotetracycline, chlorotetracycline hydrochloride, fish meal, bone meal, meat meal, ground yellow corn, soybean oil meal, yeast, magnesium sulphate, choline chloride, corn gluten meal, edible oil, dehydrated alfalfa meal, stabilized fat, limestone, sodium chloride and vitamins. |
