Foam concrete prodn. - using naphthenic acid amino-alkylamide betaine as foaming agent

Prodn. of foam concrete (aeroconcrete) is carried out by mixing the concrete-making materials with a foamed aq. soln. of a surface-active naphthenic acid aminoalkylamide betaine, pref. of formula R1N circled positive H-R2-NR3R4-R5-COO circled negative. (I) (where R1 is a naphthenic acid residue; R2 is 2-6C alkylene; R3 and R4 are lower alkyl; R5 is lower alkylene). The product has a uniform pore structure, good heat resisting and insulating properties, and sets in a short time with the minimum of shrinkage. It can be used for the mfr of building boards, steel casting equipment, etc.
