<p>An installation which can be used during the night and in the absence of the sun's radiation, today, has a solar radiation collector through which the heat transporting medium, e.g. water, flows under gravity. There are two reservoirs, one for storing heat, higher than and the other, a cold store, lower than the collector. The collector has an upper and a lower connection and the reservoirs are joined to these in parallel with upper and lower fittings. In addition the reservoirs may be equipped with heat exchangers. During the day only the energy content of the hot water tank is utilised. During the night heat is transferred from the hot water tank by convection and radiation so that when the temp. has fallen to below that in the cold water tank, gravity effects promote a circulation of the water.</p> |
