<p>Spherical tank as described in the parent patent, partic. for heating oil, has a one-piece inner wall of self-supporting plastic material and an outer layer of synthetic resin cement which is cast round the inner and bonded to it arond the opening. Improvement is that the distance between inner and outer layers is greatest at the base and steadily decreases upwards to the opening. Design makes the tanks suitable for quantity prodn.; prods. are at least equal to reinforced concrete in mechanical stability and imperviousness, polyester cures faster than cement.</p> |
