<p>A packing unit for eggs, fruit or the like is of thermoplastics foil and comprises upper and lower halves hinged together and posessing equal numbers of uniform depressions to contain the eggs, etc.. Each depression has a base in the form of a regular hexagon. Pref., strong vertical ribs provide additional stiffness. Pref. also, each face of the depression has a dome-shaped indent to accommodate different sizes of packaged eggs and the like and secure them against vibration and shocks. By comparison with previous thermoplastics packings there is a saving in material.</p> |
