[Also in Division G4] A power stream of fluid issuing from a nozzle 12 to an unbounded space normally discharges to a receiver 44 but is deflected towards a receiver 46 by the presence of a control stream 22 normal to the plane of the paper and making only peripheral contact with the power stream. A second control stream 40 provides further deflection of the power stream towards a further receiver 42. Additional control streams may be provided to interact with the undeflected power stream. Also, the flow paths may be bounded by walls and several similar devices may be stacked with common control streams.</p> |
