Synchronising connector for cigarette paper bobbin ends - has accelerator and freewheeling coupling for bobbin drive

The appts. connects the strip end from an empty bobbin with a new strip on a replacement bobbin. It is used especially with wrapping strip bobbins in making cigarettes. Synchronous running of both strips is maintained over the time period necessary for connection. The new strip is accelerated by an accelerator (46, 47) which is connected to the bobbin drive by a freewheeling drive (86). The latter is designed as a free wheel coupling (86) one half (87) of which is connected with the drive. The other coupling half (89) is connected with the accelerator (46, 47). The latter and its associated coupling halves are connected together by a common shaft.
