A non-woven abrasive product is perforated with a pattern of cut openings therethrough to provide additional openness. A preferred abrasive product is formed by sitting a non-woven abrasive pad to provide a pattern of equally spaced parallel rows of uniformly spaced slits of equal length, with a repeating sequence of slits being off set from one another in adjacent rows, extending the pad in a direction perpendicular to the slits to open the slits and setting the extended structure to prevent retraction. The pad may be laminated to a foam layer. Alternatively, the material perforated may be a laminate of a non-woven abrasive pad and a foam layer. The pads may include surfactants, oils, or waxes, either incorporated in a binder or encapsulated. The pads may also be cut in dumb bell-shape, stacked together, and fastened at their narrow region to form a scrubbing device. <IMAGE> |
