<p>A granulating machine for bulky material esp. sheet metal, plastics, glass, wood textiles, etc. comprise two cutters revolving in opposite direction at the same speed and having a profile, transversely to their shafts, composed generally of alternating projections and depressions, the faces of the cutters being always slightly in overlap at all positions of rotation. In the face of each cutter which is towards the opposite cutter, there is a peripheral recess following the outer contour of the cutter and a little distance radially inwards from it. The outer part of this recess lies within the overlap zone with the next cutter. When a certain amt. of wear has occurred, resulting in less efficient performance of the cutters, it is possible to adjust them axially closer together and thus take up the gap between them and improve efficiency again.</p> |
