[Also in Divisions B4 and B7] A device for storing and handling tool holder plates comprises a magazine formed of parallel channel-section slides 7a supporting the edges of the plates 3a-3c, the slides being carried by corner posts, 8a, 8b with screwed legs 10a, 10b rotated by motor 14 and chain 13 so that a selected plate may be raised to the level of slides 17a provided with rollers on a trolley 16 running on castors, the plate slid on to the trolley which is then moved to abut one side of a press and the plate is then fed automatically step by step through rollers to a position in the press where cutters on the plate may cut e.g. cloth. The plate may be locked on the trolley by spring loaded bolts released on abutting the press and the trolley may be guided and hydraulically locked to the press. The plates may be stored vertically in the magazine, in which case the trolley has a pair of retractable legs and a curved frame where the trolley rolls over to receive a vertical plate and then returns with the plate to the horizontal position. |
