PHARMACEUTICALLY USEFUL INDANYLPROPIONIC ACID DERIVATIVES

Indanylpropionic acid derivatives having formula: (I)(wherein R represents and ethyl group or and isopropyl group) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are useful medically as anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic agents. They can be prepared by hydrolysing a compound having the formula: (II) (wherein Y represents an alkoxycarbonyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkoxy moiety, a cyano group or a carbamoyl group) and, if appropriate salifying the resulting product of formula (I).
