<p>A model for use in teaching artificial resuscitation by the mouth-to-mouth and mouth-to-nose methods. The model has parts simulating a human head with mouth and nose openings, a neck with a simulated windpipe and a trunk with simulated lungs which, upon insufflation through the mouth or nose openings, offer a resistance corresponding to the insufflation resistance of the human lungs. The simulated lungs also simulate the movements of the thorax. The simulated lungs are provided by the trunk which consists of an air-tight self-supporting container having the requisite shape and resilient properties.</p> |
