<p>The strip measuring system is esp. for the intervals between edge perforations provided for the transport of an endless paper strip. The measurement is made on the travelling strip the portion measured being kept free of tension. One part of the strip edge can be kept free of tension for measurement purposes while the opposite one remains subject to the tension load necessary to transport the strip. Alternatively the speeds at which successive pairs of transport rollers are driven can be matched by a control unit to keep the intervening strip portion free of tension, the measuring unit being situated between these pairs of rollers.</p> |
