The cigarette filter controls the flow of air through the cigarette and dilutes tar and similar products. It is made from paper or cellulose fibre, its inner end butting against the tobacco. The joint is covered by an outer wrapper the glue being applied in discontinuous longitudinal lines leaving peripheral air intake spaces between. The air is drawn directly into the filter body through its outer layer, which can be perforated if required. Alternatively, the filter end contacting the tobacco can be cut or angled to provide an air passage.
|
