Thrust bearing with replaceable pads - bolted to both parts of coupling and located by bearing ring

The improved design of thrust bearing has special pads (2, 6) bolted to each side of the coupling and with at least one of the pads having a convex surface. The pads are secured by bolts which also serve to locate retaining rings (8) to prevent the circular bearings from drifting. The pads are sector shaped and arranged in a ring for maximum support, independent to the thrust direction.
