<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a recorder and recording head preventing the occurrence of recording irregularities and to enable the recording irregularities to be corrected by a method wherein a recording density corresponding to each recording element in a recording head is measured, an appropriate pulse-application condition per recording element is obtained, and based on the stored data the respective recording elements are driven. CONSTITUTION:At the time of correcting a thermal recording head 10 in a thermal recorder 1, image receiving paper 4 is inserted into a gap of a clamp 3 of a platen drum 2 from an insertion mount 5 to be clamped at the leading edge thereof, thereafter being fed to a contact part with the thermal recording head 10 while being wound around the drum by the rotation of the drum 2. The head 10 applied with the predetermined number of pulses heats an ink sheet 7 to form a dot-form recording image corresponding to respective elements on the image receiving paper. When this image receiving paper reaches a density measurement device 15 by the rotation of the drum 2, the densities of the respective dots are measured. Then, the data is operated in an arithmetic part, and an appropriate pulse number to be applied is obtained per element for every gradation and stored in a ROM 14. On the basis of the stored data, the respective heating elements are driven with a proper pulse number, which prevents the occurrence of recording irregularities.</p> |
