<p>A developing station includes a pair of closely-spaced plates between which the copy sheet is received, and a ring-shaped inflatable seal surrounding an area between the plates. When the copy sheet is inserted between the plates the seal is inflated and a developing fluid such as ammonia vapour is injected into the chamber. The transport for moving the copy sheet into the chamber and out of it includes a thin metal strip which fits between the plates and which can move the copy sheet between the plates, the pusher strip then withdrawing rearward of the inflatable seal. After the copy sheet has been developed and the seal is deflated, the pusher strip moves forward again, but to an even further forward position, to push the copy sheet out of the region between the plates.</p> |
