The two hot plates (4, 5) are contained in an upper (3) and lower (2) unit respectively which are connected together by an articulated unit containing articulated band (14, 15) whose upper end is joined to the upper part by a first swivel axis (16). The lower end has a pivot (17) forming the second axis. The articulated pivots (17) are mounted in guides formed by elongated holes (11). At least one horizontal stop (9) is mounted beneath the holes (11) for the articulated band (14, 15). The upper part can be readily brought into the desired position since the vertical displacement of the upper part is easily achieved by displacing the swivel axes (16, 17) relative to each other.
