Appts. comprises a fluidised bed vessel having a horizontal rotor disc which rotates about a vertical axis above a perforated bottom. The vessel is tapered upwardly so that the fluidised particles circulate upwardly at the periphery of the bed and downwardly at the centre. Appts. is suitable for carrying out reactions, mixing or drying processes or prepn. of granulates, esp. pharmaceutical granulates. Sticking of moist particles, against the vessel wall is prevented.
