<p>The telescopic damper for the front forks of a motorcycle are linked to a pivot lever (6) at the bottom, with the free end of the lever attached to the wheel mounting. The arrangement allows relatively large wheel displacements to be accommodated by shorter strokes of the damper. The pivot lever is linked to the damper on an extension arm (4) on the opposite side to the wheel mounting and takes up at least one third of the wheel displacement. Off axis deflections are easily catered for by the damper pivoting with the lever.</p> |
