PURPOSE:To eliminate jamming and contamination due to drying of ink, by using an electric insulating material in the recording medium, and recording pattern information on the surface of the recording medium as the surface potential image by using a drying type liquid which does not dissolve dyes in the ink released from small holes. CONSTITUTION:A drying type liquid is pumped from a storate tank 6 into a nozzle 4 in a recording head 6 by way of a pipe 8 through a pulsating pump 7, and particles 31 of the liquid are successively released from an opening 41 in the nozzle by the pulsations of the pump 7. As the drying type liquid 3, water or other organic solvent may be selected. However, one which is quickly evaporated and dried at room temperature when deposited on the recording medium 1 is used as the drying type liquid. The liquid particles 31 released from the opening 41 in the nozzle are selectively charged while passing between an electrode 5 and a grounded counter electrode 51. By relatively operating the recording head 2 and the recording medium 1 made of electric insulating material, the entire surface of the recording medium 1 is scanned with the flow of liquid particles 31 sent from the head 2, and the particles 31 are successively deposited on the surface of the recording medium, so that the information pattern is recorded and kept as the surface potential image. |
