The finger bar having the mowing cutter (4) possesses a plurality of cutter holding-down devices (15) which are arranged along the bar (1) and which each press on to a sliding plate (14) fastened to the cutter (4), so that the front cutter bezels (10) slide free of play on the sliding faces of the fingers (2), the said sliding faces being provided with the counter-bezels (12). During operation, the pressure faces (17) of the holding-down devices (15) and the surfaces of the sliding plates (14) sliding on these undergo pronounced wear, so that the holding-down devices (15) regularly have to be readjusted. For this purpose, each holding-down device (15) is supported at its rear edge (18) on the bar (1) in a vertically pivotable manner by means of a downwardly projecting web (19), and guided through the longitudinal centre of its rear part is a stay bolt (21) which connects a finger end (22) to the bar (1) and which carries a nut (25) pressing the holding-down device (15) on to the sliding plate (14). For securing against rotation, the holding-down device (15) has two lateral holes, into which project the screw heads of two fillister-head screws (26, 27) connecting the adjacent finger ends to the bar (1). The finger bar can be used for all finger-type mowing units. <IMAGE>
