Textile polyester or polyester-containing materials are dyed with disperse dyes by the exhaust method below 100 DEG C in the presence of cinnamic acid derivatives of the formula (I). In this formula, R is methyl or ethyl, R1 and R2, independently of one another, are H, methyl, ethyl or halogen, and R3 and R4, independently of one another, are H, methyl, ethyl, hydroxyl, methoxy, ethoxy or halogen. These carriers make it possible to carry out dyeing at lower temperatures and to achieve the same colour yield as otherwise is only possible at elevated temperatures (120-140 DEG C) and under pressure. <IMAGE>
