This press comprises an annular die (1) provided with radial channels (2), a feed chute (3) equipped with a flap (4) for adjusting the flow rate of the product (5) entering into the die (1), and rollers (6) for introducing and compressing the product in the channels (2). The rollers (6) interact with the inner surface of the die (1), controlled by a transmission (7) driven by a motor (8). The transmission (7) comprises a clutch (16) and a torque converter (17) which are mounted in series at the exit of the motor (8). A revolution (speed) counter (tachometer) (20) is connected to the exit of the converter and transmits the data it receives to members controlling the flap (4), so that the working speed of the press may be chosen with a maximum value compatible with the diameter of the die, the cross section of the channels and the nature of the product (5) to be compressed. <IMAGE>
