NEW MATERIAL:Cyclohexenecarboxylic acid derivatives of formula I (R is lower alkyl). EXAMPLE:1-Methyl-4-isohexyl-3-cyclohexene-1-carboxylic acid. USE:Intermediate of non-steroidal anti-allergic drugs, medicines and surfactants. There is substantially no side effect when used for anti-allergic drug. The surfactant is used in tooth poweders, additives for shampoos, detergents, dispersants and others. PREPARATION:A compound of formula II (R<1> is H or lower alkyl), a reaction product from myrcene and an acrylic acid derivative, is catalytically hydrogenated in the presence of Raney nickel and the resulting product is hydrolyzed or when R<1> is H, the compound of formula II is directly subjected to catalytic hydrogenation to produce cyclohexenecarboxylic acid derivative of formula I. |
