The vide disc turntable and pick-up assembly is intended for use with a disc kept in a thin protective envelope. The disc with its envelope is introduced through a slot in the box. A plate is mounted in the box to centre and support the disc. The machine itself removes the disc from its envelope. The disc reading head is supported on a carriage to be driven across the disc radius at a speed linked to the speed of rotation of the disc. A band drive system using pulleys links the drive of the carriage carrying the head to the rotation of the disc. |
