PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for such a troublesome operation as turning ON/OFF a manual switch to prevent the occurrence of malfunctions of circuit failures by supplying a power to a printer, which is attached with a connector, through a switch closed by a control signal generated in a printing mode. CONSTITUTION:A make and break switch 12 is provided on a power supply line 7, and the make and break control of the switch 12 s performed by a control circuit 13. The control circuit 13 controls the ON/OFF operation of the make and break switch 12 on the basis of a control signal P1 imparted from a central processing unit 15. Therefore, a drive power is not supplied to the side of a printer 2 in other mode than a printing mode, and a wasteful electric power demand usually existing in the printer 2 is remarkably reduced. In this manner, the printer 2 is allowed to be kept connected to a main body 1 and, therefore, there is no need for such a troublesome operation that a connector 4 should be attached/detached to connect the printer 2 only during printing for reducing the consumption of batteries. |
