PURPOSE:To make possible the printing of paper of different size without waiting for the supply of new sheets of paper if 'no paper' error occurs, and also make possible the extension of services for a little waiting time, if an immediate print-out is required by informing an operator of any other printable paper size, if the 'no paper' error occurs and allowing him to select the other paper size for printing. CONSTITUTION:If CPU5 requires the size A4 to be printed in the title control method,and then 'no A4-size paper' error occurs in a paper feed section 4 before the start of A4-size page printing under a printing sequential order (i), a printer 2 notifies a print status control section 6 of the error occurrence and a control device 3 notifies an operator of the error occurrence and that paper of other size can now be printed. If the operator requires the printing to be performed using paper of B4 size, he carries out the printing by changing the paper size data 7-3 in a printing data control section 7 and data in the paper feed section 4 to the B size. Thereafter, if the paper of A4 size is supplied to the paper feed section 4, the paper feed section is reactivated to resume the printing process. |
