Pressurised container valve for combustible propellant - has orifice to mix some propellant gas with sprayed liquid to reduce fire risk

The valve is fitted to a pressurised container, the propellant being a combustible liquid. It comprises a feed tube(14) immersed in the liquid(18), the pressurised liquid entering a chamber(7). A spring(12) in the chamber holds the valve body(10) against a seal(4), this being pressed down to discharge the spray through a side hole(15) in the valve body. A calibrated orifice(16) in the side(6) of the chamber permits some of the propellant gas(19) to enter a mix with the discharged liquid(11). This oversaturated mixture reduces the risk of fire in the propellant.
