U-section seal for metal framed window - has leg which returns to cover external exposed frame faces

The flexible U-section (9) has a leg (11) which returns (12) through 180 deg. to cover the exposed external faces (7) of the frame. The arrangement prevents thermal losses due to direct contact between the atmosphere and the frame. The return may terminate in a tongue (13) with an enlarged head, its anchorage being effected by inserting the tongue in a sec frame groove (14). The sec groove may locate on the frame face opposite to the main groove (5), the return undulating (16) parallel to the edge of the pane to provide a normal air-gap.
