<p>Cpds. of formula (I): (where R1 is (i) 1-4C alkyl, (ii) phenyl opt. substd. by methyl, chloro or hydroxy, (iii) a radical of formula (II) , (iv) a radical of formula (III) in which Ar is phenyl or p-tolyl; (v) a radical (IV), (vi) a radical (V), (vii) 3-pyridyl, (viii) 8-quinalinyl, (ix) 8-hydroxy-5-quinolinyl or 8-hydroxy-7-iodo-5-quinolinyl; (x) 2-aminoehtyl or (xi) 2-carboxy-2-aminoethyl) are prepared by reacting equimolar amts. of Al is apropylate and a cpd. R1SO3H, and reacting the intermediate cpd. with 2 equivs. of pyridine-2-thiol-N-oxide. Novel cpds. are those in which R1 is of formula (III), (IV), (V) or the meanings (vii-xi). The cpds. are antimicrobial agents and may be used in cosmetics, i.e. deodorant, antiperspirant and anti-film compsns., and also for female hygiene. Compared with prior art, the process is short, gives less drying time and a better quality product.</p> |
