A production method is used for endless sets of ready-to-post promotion or business letters with largely preprinted contents. The sets of letters also include two cover bands which are glued to each other on the outer edges as well as along transverse perforation lines which are provided at distances corresponding to the size of the business letter. Initially the cover bands are glued only along one outside edge (4) and along the perforation line in parts only, so that a section remains free on the open outside edge. The letter insets are then inserted from the open side and finally the couvert bands are glued together along the second outer edge.
