The stackable container has upright walls extending from the bottom so as to form a top loading opening. There are support and centering faces for the container above. The container consists of a cardboard packing box (12) with top flaps (13) folded over so that the edges formed by the folds (14) accommodate at each corner a straddling and stiffening angle-piece (16). This holds two adjacent top flaps against their respective sidewalls (18) and incorporates the centering (19) and support (21) faces. The top flaps can be folded inside the box or outside it.
