Vitreous enamel with high resistance to corrosion - for steel reactors, pipes or heat exchangers, contains silica, titania, zirconia, calcium fluoride, sodium oxide and lithium oxide

The enamel contains by wt. 62.17-72.29% SiO2, 0.2-9.54% TiO2, 0.5-9.9% ZrO2, 2.4-6.6% CaF2, 0.3-5.06% Li2O, and 10.48-19.05% Na2O. The compsn. pref. contains 68% SiO2, 3.23% TiO2, 4.95% ZrO2, 6.32% CaF2, 2.5% Li2O and 15% Na2O. The enamel may also contain 0.5-2% Cr2O3 or Co2O3, to obtain a green or blue shade. The enamel resists corrosive media, acids and alkalies, but contains neither expensive nor toxic materials. The enamel is free from continuous pores.
